Scope of Work

Daracon completed the concrete structures, site access roads, office compounds and associated works, preliminary MPC earthworks, as well as managing the reclamation side of the dredging works.

Significant Achievements

  • PWCS and Bechtel have made safety of personnel their highest priority, believing that safe sites are the most productive.  Daracon was chosen in part because of its similar commitment and performance.
  • Daracon’s role in this significant coal handling infrastructure project was initially to complete the concrete works for a new reclaim conveyor. This was completed successfully, after which Daracon progressed into the construction, maintenance and ultimate removal of all site laydown areas, access roads and office compounds associated with the Project 3Exp Scope.
  • Initial MPC works commenced in mid 2009 with the preparation of new areas for the impending additional expansion works. This included a large quantity of earthworks followed by dredging which commenced in January 2010.
  • Dredging works were successfully completed in April 2010 with approximately 860,000 m3 of sand reclaimed.
