Scope of Work

Daracon commenced the Major Civil Contract in May 2010 following on from the successful dredging campaign. The Contracted work includes the placement and management of the sand pre-load, the expansion of two machinery Berms / Coal storage pads and the extension of the associated watermain and stormwater networks.

Significant Achievements

Managing approximately 1.5 Million cubic metres associated with the pre-load whilst dealing with irregular settlement times and strict schedule milestones.

Management and assembly of the various Zones used in the construction of the Berms and Coal Pads to within stringent tolerances.

Working closely with the other Contractors to allow the prompt handover of various areas for Conveyor and Gantry installation.

Excavate and backfill approximately 4 Kilometres of High Voltage cable trench through the middle of the operating terminal with minimal disruption.
