Scope of Work
- Bulk earthwork to move 300,000 m3 of material. Detailed earthwork covering 800m by 100m to prepare surface for coal storage
- 3 km of internal plant and service roads
- 5 km of stormwater drains, pipes and culverts
Significant Achievements
- Stockpile site adjoins the existing rail loading facility and is subject to continuous mine traffic delivering coal for shipment
- Safety is of prime importance not only because of the work being on an operational coal mine but due to the number of separate contractors who are working on the site
- Select fill for the platform is brought from the mine overburden stockpile and requires all transport personnel to have Black Coal Competency training as they are deemed to be working in the mine area
- All plant used on site complies with the mine’s 103 standard
