Scope of Work
To supply and install 3.5km of 600mm diameter DICL water main, with 500m of twin aerial lines, including piling, aerial crossing and headstocks with large structural concrete thrust blocks. This work formed part of HWC Stage 2 Upgrade Maitland / North Rothbury, from Maitland Park to Louth Park.
Significant Achievements
- Highly planned shutdowns and very tight timeframes for water main shuts / cut-ins to minimise disruption to HWC customers.
- Extensive piling works, and substantial structural concrete thrust blocks between underground and aerial transitions of pipe work.
- Overcame the extremely difficult and wet ground conditions as 3km of work were conducted across the Louth Park flood plains.
- Much of the work was conducted through private property, so establishing a strong and cooperative relationship with property owners was a successful highlight to this project. Praise from a number of property owners.
- Excellent environmental performance with disturbed areas re-instated as the project progressed, gaining positive recognition from HWC.
