Ben Woodridge (welder, Daracon Rail) was recently awarded the 2011 Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) Safety Champion Awards, which is presented to an individual who has shown extraordinary commitment to ensuring high safety standards in their workplace.
Ben's winning submission was a self designed 'welding crate', for the safe storage of welding equipment. Ben’s entry was innovative, creative and practical. The crate reduces the hazard of manual handling and the hazards involved in transporting and storing equipment and materials.
Ben was also the 1st recipient to win the Daracon Safety Award. Ben received a $200 Bunnings voucher from Daracon, and will be considered along with the remaining 2011 Safety Award Winners for the Annual General Manager’s Award which will be announced following the December 2011 OHS Committee Meeting.
