One of the most significant events on the Variety calendar is the annual Bash and we have two special cars that participate each year and are crewed by a chosen few.  The cars are fully funded by Daracon and all donations raised go to Variety.

This year, the Daracon Bash team consisted of Maureen Henderson, Ken Blundell, Garry Smith, Lyn May, Ray Fox and “virgin” basher, Gary Rayner from Westrac.

On Sunday 15th May, Daracon’s “Car 10”, along with The Daracon Bash Team left for the 7-day-long Newcastle Variety Bash.  This year, the Bashers travelled from Newcastle Foreshore - Gulgong - Condobolin, onto Ivanhoe - Balranald, then to Conargo  - Echuca, continuing to Moama - Darlington Point - West Wyalong, before returning via Tullamore - Gilgandra - Wallabadah - Scone  and home !

The ‘Bashers’ stop at local communities and schools along the way and distribute donated gifts to local children. Our giveaways were provided by some of our sponsors - Westrac, NIB, Greater Building Society, Loadrail, Pirtek, Coates, Wurth and 360HR.

We were again awarded the overall Highest Fund Raiser with $60,000 out of a total $320,000.
